Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dave Mattingly. The U.S. Navy is once again blocking ships from moving to and from Iranian ports. President Trump ordered the blockade be put back in place in response to Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command says American forces carried out more strikes yesterday, hitting dozens of Iranian sites near the strait and Iranian coastal areas over seven hours. They included missile and drone sites in an effort to further degrade Iran's ability to attack ships. Iran's health ministry says U.S. attacks have killed more than thirty people in recent days. It says these latest American strikes also wounded more than two hundred fifty others. New data from the UN's Children's Fund shows seventy-seven percent of infants in the U.S. and around the world were fully vaccinated against measles in 2025. Measles is a highly infectious disease that's killed more than seven hundred fifty children in Bangladesh in a major outbreak. NPR's Duri Buscarin says disruptions in Bangladesh's vaccine stockpile has been a major contributing factor.
