Live from NPR News, I'm Giles Snyder. The US and Iran have again inst- exchanged military strikes. US Central Command said it hit multiple military sites in Iran overnight, and Iran fired back, targeting US sites in Gulf states. Here's NPR's Carrie Kahn.

For the second night in a row, the US Central Command says it struck some 90 Iranian military targets, including air defense systems and drone depots. Seven hours later, posting on X, the US military said it had completed its campaign to, quote, "further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz." Iran's speaker of the parliament posted on X that it was retaliating. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a key negotiator in talks with the US to permanently end the war said, quote, "America still hasn't learned that bullying and breaking promises are no longer cost-free." Kuwait's military said it was actively intercepting incoming drones and missiles. Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it was also attacking US bases in Bahrain. Carrie Kahn, NPR News, Tel Aviv.
