Live from NPR News, I'm Giles Snyder. On his way back from the NATO Summit in Turkey, President Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that Iran has been hit hard by the latest US military strikes.
Speaker 3· Soundbite0:32
We just hit 'em very hard, and I'd say we hit 'em twenty to one. Every time they hit us, we're gonna hit 'em twenty.

Trump said the strikes are in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Before leaving the NATO summit, Trump said the interim agreement aimed at ending the war is over. But he now says he's not sure if the US and Iran will return to a full-scale war. Following the fresh US attacks, missile alert sirens went off early Thursday in Kuwait and Bahrain, both home to US military bases. Meanwhile, the US military says it has completed this latest round of strikes on Iran. In a statement, the military said US forces trucks, uh, struck some ninety military targets. Texas lawmakers and advocacy groups are demanding an independent investigation into the fatal shooting Tuesday morning of an undocumented immigrant by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Houston. Houston Public Media's Bianca Seward reports.
