At the White House this morning, the president marked the moment as he rang the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq to officially launch a government initiative to deposit $1,000 into accounts set up for any child born during Trump's second term.

Private firms will invest the money in the stock market. Children can access the money when they're 18 years old and only for specific purposes, such as school or a home. A preliminary hearing is being held today for the 23-year-old man accused of assassinating prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus last September. Prosecutors will argue that they have enough evidence against Tyler Robinson to proceed to trial.
