Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dan Ronan. Sporadic clashes are continuing in southern Lebanon despite a new framework between the Israeli government and the Lebanese government. This to end the fighting that has devastated large parts of Lebanon. NPR's Ruth Sherlock reports.

Some accept the framework agreement because they want the war to end at all costs. Others, like Frida Nuriddin, says it's a capitulation. She calls it the sale of south Lebanon.

The deal would have the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah disarm before Israel leaves parts of south Lebanon that it has occupied. Hezbollah has rejected the deal entirely.
