Primary voters went to the polls Tuesday in four states with the most closely watched contests in New York City, where Democratic voters advanced to November a slate of congressional candidates endorsed by Mayor Zarin Mamdani. The three candidates swept their primary elections in a major blow for the Democratic establishment. In South Carolina, Allen Wilson is thanking President Trump for his late endorsement in the Republican primary runoff for governor.

    After initially endorsing Wilson's primary opponent, Lieutenant Governor Pamela Oubbette, President Trump endorsed both candidates on Friday, saying, "With either one, you can't go wrong." Wilson is currently South Carolina's attorney general. The Supreme Court has ruled that a Louisiana man cannot seek financial damages for having his religious liberty violated while in prison. NPR's Jason DeRose reports on the six to three decision that fell along ideological lines.
