Live from NPR News, I'm Giles Snyder. Vice President J.D. Vance says talks with Iranian officials have set what he called Monday a good foundation to end the war. Following negotiations in Switzerland, Vance claimed progress on multiple fronts, from ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains open to Iran agreeing to allow UN nuclear inspectors to return to the country. Iran's foreign ministry, however, says Iran has made no new nuclear commitments. Diplomacy between the US Iran is translating into some relief at the pump. The price tracking service GasBuddy says the national average fell fourteen cents over last week to three dollars eighty-five cents a gallon. Patrick De Haan is GasBuddy's petroleum analyst. He says it may be a while before prices settle further.
