Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Willman. The new round of US-Iran talks in Switzerland faltered Sunday after President Trump's most recent threat to attack Iran if it doesn't stop supporting its proxy, Hezbollah. Negotiations have ended for the night. NPR's Shondelice Duster has more.

Negotiations between the US and Iran in Switzerland became tense Sunday after President Trump threatened to attack the country if it doesn't stop Hezbollah from, quote, "causing trouble." Trump said in a social media post the US would, quote, "hit Iran very hard if it doesn't stop Hezbollah's actions in Lebanon." Iran's lead negotiator responded, writing on social media for the US to be careful and that its armed forces are prepared to respond in a different manner. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a summit on Sunday that it won't make peace with Lebanon until Hezbollah is dismantled.
