  13. Paula Kurland· Guest0:30

[dramatic music] She was very beautiful. She had the biggest, brownest eyes, and sh- her heart was [sighs] so good. This was the first newspaper article. This was the crucifix from her casket.

  14. Speaker 40:50

In a handmade cedar chest in her Houston, Texas home- This was her little gawky stage ... Paula Kurland keeps her memories of her daughter, Mitzie, under lock and key.

  15. Paula Kurland· Guest1:02

I'm just extremely protective of the contents. Well, you can see how old the papers are. It's the first time I've gone through them in 10 years.

  16. Speaker 41:11

[cries] On most days, even opening the chest is just too painful.

  17. Paula Kurland· Guest1:15

[sniffs] When Mitzie was murdered, I just died.

  18. Speaker 41:19

[cries] But today, Paula has to look for one favorite photograph- I'm going to wear her picture right here on my chest
