    And this is Seamwork Radio. Welcome back to Seamwork Radio, where we share practical ideas for building a creative process so you can sew with intention and joy. And today, we're getting a little bit vulnerable and talking about our recurring sewing mistakes. So you know the ones, the things that just seem to happen over and over, no matter how long you've been sewing. So we'll cover the mistakes we've each made repeatedly over the years, what finally helped us to overcome them or at least recognize them faster, and the lessons we've taken away that have made us better sewists. All right, so our icebreaker for today, tell me, Haley, about a sewing mistake that turned into something unexpectedly good. So maybe you cut something wrong and you discovered a new design, or fitting issue led you to a technique you now use all the time, something like that.

    The, what comes to mind for me is many years ago, I was making a dress. Um, it was like a blazer style dress out of a velvet fabric, and I, [sighs] you know, velvet blazers are, like, nothing new, but I really chose the wrong type of velvet- Mm ... um, to create something structured. Not only that, it was also my first time sewing with [laughs] velvet fabric. [laughs] And I was like, yeah, silk velvet and something structured-
