On Christmas morning in 2020, downtown Nashville was shaken when an RV began broadcasting evacuation warnings as the song “Downtown” echoed throughout the streets. Police rushed door to door clearing buildings before the RV exploded at 6:30 a.m., damaging dozens of buildings and knocking out communications across the city. Yet despite the devastation, no civilians were killed — something many still describe as miraculous. Officer James Wells later said he heard what he believed was a voice warning him to turn back moments before the explosion. What happened that morning left many asking whether divine intervention was at work in the onset of tragedy.
