Masculinity Is Being Used Against Men... | Itscomplicatedchannel | DSH #1942

4/30/202643 min

Are men actually failing… or is the system set up against them? In this episode of Digital Social Hour, Jonathan from ItsComplicated breaks down why modern men feel stuck, why the Red Pill movement may be working against itself, and why “just improve yourself” might not be enough. He argues that men are being told to work harder, earn more, look better, and become “top 1%” — while nobody wants to talk about the laws, culture, and incentives shaping dating, marriage, divorce, and masculinity. This conversation gets into men’s rights, the manosphere, feminism, gyocentrism, marriage risk, no-fault divorce, prostitution legalization, AI girlfriends, porn, circumcision, and why masculinity may be used to control men more than help them. A sharp, controversial, and uncomfortable conversation about men, women, dating, power, and the future of relationships. ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 Men vs Women: Who Has It Worse? 4:19 Do Women Actually Empathize With Men? 8:10 Inside the Manosphere Problem 11:02 Feminism vs Gyocentrism Explained 14:15 Breaking Down the Pearl Debate 17:06 The Real Goal: Liberating Men 21:24 Why Men Feel Disposable 26:14 Marriage, Risk, and Modern Laws 32:10 AI Girlfriends, Porn, and Reality 38:15 The Future of Relationships 🧠 What You’ll Learn 🧠 Why Jonathan believes the manosphere became a dating grift ⚖️ How family court and divorce laws shape modern relationships 🔥 Why “self-improvement” may not solve men’s biggest problems 💬 The difference between attacking women and advocating for men 👀 Why traditional masculinity may keep men disposable 💸 Why marriage feels financially risky for many men today 🚨 How Red Pill creators may be hurting male advocacy 🤖 Why AI girlfriends and porn may be symptoms, not solutions 🧩 Why Jonathan says culture matters more than “female nature” 🗣️ Why men’s rights need better framing 🎙️ APPLY OR CONNECT 👉 Interested in being a guest? Men seem to care more about getting laid than they care about their rights. [laughs] And right now, it's like men are second-class citizens to women. I mean, these manosphere creators will say things like, "Women live life on easy mode." Well, isn't another way to frame that to say that men are oppressed?

  2. Sean Kelly· Host0:13

[mouse clicking] All right, guys, we got another Vegas local, someone that's, uh, interviewed more people than me, which is really rare, you know? We got Jonathan from It's Complicated channel. You've probably seen his clips, but the face is, uh, gonna come out more this year, right?

  3. Jonathan· Guest0:29

    That's right, yep.

  4. Sean Kelly· Host0:30

Yeah, you're more behind the scenes.

  5. Jonathan· Guest0:32

    Mm-hmm.

  6. Sean Kelly· Host0:32

Uh, uh, was that intentional? Did you wanna go that route at first, kinda be anonymous?

  7. Jonathan· Guest0:35

Yeah, because I was kinda worried about being canceled or being '86'd from certain places. 'Cause I mean, this stuff was really controversial when this first started coming out.

  8. Sean Kelly· Host0:43

    Right.

  9. Jonathan· Guest0:43

And then now that you've got the whole, you know, red pill manosphere space, you know, blowing up all over the internet. I mean, they're saying stuff that's even w- way more outrageous than anything I'm even saying.

  10. Sean Kelly· Host0:52

    Yeah.

  11. Jonathan· Guest0:52

So I kinda feel more safe to kinda show my face.

  12. Sean Kelly· Host0:54

That's how I felt. I started the show three years ago. I felt like it was a little more safe. Biden was just ending his presidency, and there was a lot of censorship under him.

  13. Jonathan· Guest1:01

    Mm-hmm.

  14. Sean Kelly· Host1:01

Um, so I felt like the timing was right for me to- Yeah ... kinda emerge, you know?

  15. Jonathan· Guest1:05

    Yeah.

  16. Sean Kelly· Host1:06

And, uh, now it's like you could say whatever you want.

  17. Jonathan· Guest1:08

[laughs] I mean, they're saying, they're saying, you know, "Repeal the 19th Amendment." They're saying, you know, "Send women back to the kitchen." I mean, they're saying crazy stuff that I don't, I don't go quite that far.

  18. Sean Kelly· Host1:17

    Yeah.

  19. Jonathan· Guest1:17

But a lot of, you know, rage-baiting content is, you know, what gets the clicks right now, so.

  20. Sean Kelly· Host1:21

Yeah. I feel like cancel culture's pretty much dead, other than the PDF stuff, like the Epstein stuff.

  21. Jonathan· Guest1:25

    Mm-hmm.

  22. Sean Kelly· Host1:25

If you're caught on that, like, there's some people getting really canceled right now.

  23. Jonathan· Guest1:28

    Sure.

  24. Sean Kelly· Host1:28

    Um, Mark- Peter
