[upbeat music] You're listening to the Sky Sports Premier League podcast. Old Trafford was the venue for this week's Monday Night Football as Manchester United played Brentford. Here's how things sounded when the full-time whistle blew. [crowd cheering] Back to winning ways at the Theater of Dreams. 13 games in charge for Michael Carrick in the Premier League, that's his ninth win, and that's as good as secured Champions League football for Manchester United once again next season. An 11-point gap between themselves in third and sixth place with just 12 left to play for. It was a wonderful first half that went from one end to the other. Casemiro's early goal, but then Brentford came right back at Manchester United before Bruno Fernandes added to his assist tally and Scheschko finished it off in fine style. A halftime tactical change looked to have shut the door, but Brentford kept on going and a late goal from Mathias Jensen made it nervous, but Gary, they did enough just.

Yeah, they did. It was pulsating the first half, pragmatic the second, but Michael Carrick's job was to get the points that take Manchester United into the Champions League, and I think he's just gone and done that tonight.
