[upbeat music] Welcome everyone to Monday Match Analysis. I'm Gil Gross, and it is time for a preview of the 2026 Mutua Madrid Masters, that altitude clay. I love predicting this tournament. It's always interesting to me. The conditions are very unique, and therefore it's engaging. It's fun to work out in my head who I think is gonna be best suited in these particular conditions. The air is thin, over 2,000 feet of altitude. You still have the clay factor, so you still want a comfort level with moving on the surface and sliding. It's also ultra bouncy. It's a very, very lively court. So heavy top spin, great kick serves, these things are rewarded. If you're really tall, like Alexander Zverev, if you like the ball up high, that's another thing that factors into the extremely high height of bounce that these courts deliver. So there's a lot of factors there. I think if I were to boil it down, I want great servers and I want huge spin if I can get it. Big forehands, huge spin. And that, that's pretty... That was pretty well represented last year with Casper Ruud beating Jack Draper in the final. Two really good serve plus one players and two high RPM forehands. Before I get into the quarter-by-quarter preview, let's talk about some withdrawals. It's become very relevant on the tour, unfortunately,
