I just love this weekend so much. I love reliving it. I love hearing the stories from it. I love getting so many different perspectives on it. And every year in Boston, I host a panel on Friday afternoon at the race expo featuring some of the top American women marathoners in the field. This year, that meant getting to sit down and chat with Puma and Minnesota distance elites Annie Frisbie and Brooks athlete Amanda Vestry. Annie went on to lead much of the race, ultimately finishing eighth overall and as the second American woman in a time of two hours and 22 minutes flat, an 81-second personal best. And Amanda, in only her second marathon, finished 15th overall and as the eighth American woman in a very deep field. She ran 2:24:49, a 51-second improvement from her New York City Marathon time in the fall. These girls are on fire.
