Answer the Polls Here: https://thisorthatpolls.com/events/pesach
In this special live episode of the Meaningful People Podcast, the conversation goes beyond theory and straight into reality, marriage, connection, and what actually happens behind closed doors. Through live polling and raw discussion, we uncover surprising truths: nearly 70% of people didn't feel prepared for marriage, and almost half admitted they questioned their decision within the first year. But what does that really mean? Is struggle a red flag, or part of the process?
This episode breaks down what's really at the core of relationship tension. It's not communication, it's connection. From navigating conflict the right way to understanding why "I want a divorce" is often just a cry for help, this conversation offers a refreshing and deeply practical perspective on building a strong marriage. If you've ever wondered what separates couples who thrive from those who fall apart, this is a conversation you don't want to miss.

Welcome to this year's live podcast. We're doing something cool tonight. We're gonna get you involved. Questions will come up where I'm gonna want you guys to vote, so we can see what you think. Let's say a couple's coming to you with an issue, what are you really seeing behind those issues?
Reuven Epstein· Guest0:12
If you wanna know what everyone's struggling with, it's one thing. It's either that we are connected or we are disconnected. In ninety-eight percent of cases, that's what you're struggling with.
Nachi Gordon· Host0:20
We ran a poll today. Going into marriage, did you actually feel prepared? Thirty-one percent said, "Yes, I felt prepared." Sixty-nine percent said, "I had no idea what I was doing."
Reuven Epstein· Guest0:30
How are they supposed to know what they're doing? The thirty-one percent that felt prepared- The line.
Nachi Gordon· Host0:34
[laughs] There's a question up. This is one hundred percent anonymous, so don't worry. During your first year of marriage, did you ever think, "Did I make a mistake?" We're about to get some real-time results. Forty-five percent said they questioned whether or not they made a mistake. We're up to forty-eight percent.
Reuven Epstein· Guest0:51
All that means to me is that there's a process that people are going through. While they are figuring marriage out, people who are unprepared are gonna think, "Maybe I made a mistake." I hear people every day that come to me, they go, "We wanna get divorced."
Nachi Gordon· Host1:03
Every day?
Reuven Epstein· Guest1:04
Yes.
Nachi Gordon· Host1:04
How many?
Reuven Epstein· Guest1:05
A few people a day. Most people who come to me, they don't end up getting a divorce, because all it is is a call for help.
Nachi Gordon· Host1:10
By the way, we're at fifty-fifty now, just saying.
Reuven Epstein· Guest1:12
Oh.
Nachi Gordon· Host1:12
Something we're saying that's just making people be like, "Yeah, I made a mistake." [laughs] [laughs] Uh, what is going on? Yes, we got a question over there.
Speaker 21:19
I think that it's not inappropriate that children in this room, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve years old. How do you guys feel about that?
Nachi Gordon· Host1:25
Should they be here? If your kid was by In-N-Out Burger last night, they could be here now.
