Keeping the Bhakti Romance Alive / Q&A Vol. 296

6/13/20261 hr 1 min

How do you keep bhakti fresh, sweet and progressive for the rest of your life — fueled by genuine love rather than institutional guilt or a rigid checklist? In this special Q&A episode recorded live in Torgau, Germany with the Shelter crew, Raghunath and Kaustubha tackle that question alongside two others that go just as deep. What remains of our relationship with Krishna when everything we identify with falls away? And what is your favorite place in Vrindavan — and what made it that? The answers range from practical to profound.

Part of Puja is Vandanam, where you're chanting prayers and offering- Mm-hmm ... beautiful prayers. And they do that together, and then sometimes we'll actually visit the holy places. Like, we'll, you know, we do prayers to Mother Ganga, and then we'll go to the Ganga and we'll be, "Oh, this is what we do every day. We're here, Mother Ganga." Or we'll do, you know, we'll sing songs together. Or we'll, um, go on japa walks together. And then we'll go on, um, we'll do evening, evening, uh, uh, something in the evening. So we usually have a book that we read in the morning, a book that we read in the evening, and sometimes we change that up. And so I think if you find something that adds Krishna to your life in the morning and the evening, that's a very powerful way to have your day and have a relationship where you feel like you're nurturing each other. And truthfully, it's like the most intimate thing I could do with anyone is have some type of Hari Katha. You know, hearing and chanting about Krishna. And you just really bond in that in the, in, in sort of like the most refined way possible.
