7/7/20262 hr 10 min
What a day in sports for Vancouver. Matt and Blake say goodbye to the sports radio industry in town as the last remaining all sports station is shuttered. The guys look at the ongoing changes in sports coverage and what lies ahead. With the World Cup festivities in Vancouver winding down after Colombia vs Switzerland, the boys look back on the city's celebrations and what it means for soccer going forward. They also debate the Davies situation with Vancouver. Longtime national columnist Stephen Brunt joins the show for a look at the World Cup's long term legacy in Canada, both on and off the pitch. He gets into the possible monetary benefits for the players and programs, and what it could do for the CPL and and MLS franchises. Then it's a look ahead to the 2027 NHL draft with DFO's Steve Ellis. He takes a look at the surefire top 3 that everyone is looking at, as well a couple more players who might be able to get there. Steven also begins to unveil his snapshots of the NHL's prospect pools, and who might appear when he gets to Vancouver's. Matt and Blake then catch up with Adam Macko of the Toronto Blue Jays, the former Vancouver Canadian, who has a personal journey unlike any other to the Major Leagues. Macko relives his appearances at the Nat all the way to his first win in MLB at Yankee Stadium.
