Joe Rogan Podcast, check it out The Joe Rogan Experience. Train by day, Joe Rogan Podcast by night. All day. [upbeat music] Bro. D-Rod, free.

  2. Daniel Rodriguez· Guest0:14

    Yes, sir.

  3. Joe Rogan· Host0:14

Free man. [laughs] What a fucking crazy story. So let's, let's fill people in. So you were a top contender in the UFC's welterweight division, and then somehow or another you wound up getting arrested in Mexico.

  4. Daniel Rodriguez· Guest0:27

Yeah, man, right after the, uh, Kevin Holland fight, actually. I was ce- I was in, I was celebrating. I was over in San Diego. Um, had some drinks and decided, "You know what? Let's go to, let's go to TJ." Seeing- Oh ... you know?

  5. Joe Rogan· Host0:42

Always a phrase that [laughs] is regretted.

  6. Daniel Rodriguez· Guest0:45

Yeah. Well, we're not even that far.

  7. Joe Rogan· Host0:46

When you're in San Diego and you're drinking, you can walk there. Shit.

  8. Daniel Rodriguez· Guest0:48

Y- yeah, yeah, literally. So, um, decided to go to, to TJ for the, for the night, you know, go celebrate my win. I was obviously in celebration mode. And I had a ounce of weed in the car, you know. And I've been across the border 100 times, bro. Never had no issues, never had no problems, never got stopped, pulled over. That's the last thing I would even think is that- I thought weed was legal in Mexico. I thought, I thought so, too. Like, here- I thought everything's decriminalized down there. Uh, apparently not, man. [sighs] The, the, the laws are, like, crazy, crazy strict over there, you know? And, and I've been in situations before where I could, like, just offer some money and get out the situation.
