Welcome to An Excellent Fit, a podcast on style, culture, and the stories we tell through what we wear because getting dressed is never just about the clothes. I'm Kay Barron.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:09
And I'm Alice Casely-Hayford. So today we are joined by Jo Ellison, which we are both very excited about. What have you chosen to wear today for Jo?
Kay Barron· Host0:19
Well, I feel like both of us have decided we need to be on our A-game here.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:21
Absolutely.
Kay Barron· Host0:22
And also look smart.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:24
Mm-hmm.
Kay Barron· Host0:24
'Cause I feel like Jo always looks kind of powerful, serious.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:29
Mm.
Kay Barron· Host0:29
So I've gone for a triple Khaite threat today.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:34
Wow.
Kay Barron· Host0:34
I know.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:35
Triple.
Kay Barron· Host0:35
I don't think I've ever been able to say that. [laughs] It is a head-to-toe Khaite- Wow ... which is quite privileged to be able to say that.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:40
Quite.
Kay Barron· Host0:40
Um, I bought the denim when I published my book as a treat to myself.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:46
You're very good at treating yourself.
Kay Barron· Host0:47
[laughs] I deserve it, though.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:48
You do.
Kay Barron· Host0:48
I deserve it.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:48
You absolutely do.
Kay Barron· Host0:49
Um, and then I realized I have podcast shoes.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host0:52
What are podcast shoes?
Kay Barron· Host0:53
Shoes that have never been outside- [laughs] ... and are much, um, better placed for sitting down- Mm, okay ... and looking pretty because earlier I just went down the stairs and feared for my life. [laughs] But they look great. They're like little pieces of jewelry.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host1:06
They are.
Kay Barron· Host1:06
Or very big pieces of jewelry.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host1:07
They're exquisite.
Kay Barron· Host1:08
So these Khaite like black leather patent, which you know I love- You do ... my black leather patent.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host1:13
You do.
Kay Barron· Host1:14
But with, um, the gold chain detail.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host1:17
Mm.
Kay Barron· Host1:17
So they're like, they're a bit jingle-jangle.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host1:19
They're a bit jingle-jangle, but I love them.
Kay Barron· Host1:21
And I love the fact that you're wearing tailoring.
Alice Casely-Hayford· Host1:22
Yeah, I mean, tailoring is in the family. My family are tailors. My husband works at Paul Smith, so here we are today in a Paul Smith suit.
Kay Barron· Host1:29
Representing.
