Jays Complete Windy City Comeback vs. Cubs

6/20/202644 min

Sho Alli and Kaitlyn McGrath break down the Blue Jays' 8-6 comeback win vs. the Cubs to even the series at one game apiece! They take your calls and texts, and discuss Louis Varland shutting things down in a six-out save - is he a shoo-in for AL Reliever of the Year at this point? They get into the timely hitting from Alejandro Kirk, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Kazuma Okamoto, and Daulton Varsho - does John Schneider also get some credit for his pinch-hit moves? Plus, they discuss the outfield defence from Varsho alongside Myles Straw and Nathan Lukes, Jeff Hoffman keeping it together in the seventh, and what the rotation could look like when Shane Bieber returns on Monday.

[upbeat music] Well, Kaitlin, I gotta say, after Colin Ray came out of this ballgame only for the Jays to essentially immediately hit into a double play, hand up I will admit that I thought Jays Talk was gonna be a quick one tonight- [laughs] ... given that we had gotten bobkiss for the Jays for most of the day, but my goodness, a monster comeback. Down five-nothing, they go up 8-5. Cubs do get a run back, but an 8-6 Blue Jays win to even this series at one game a piece. Jays now 38 and 39 on the season. That's some, some tremendous stuff down by a lot late in this ballgame.

Yeah, you and I were talking before we came on,
