[trumpet music] Welcome back to the final episode of the definitive story of It's a Royal Knockout. In this final part, we discuss royal divorces, toe-sucking tabloid pics, the Princess Diana squidgy gate scandal, and her infamous interview with Martin Bashir. And Prince Andrew reflects on the legacy of the event as his reputation and business are left in tatters.

  2. Matthew Crosby· Host0:28

[trumpet music] So it's all over for Prince Edward. The, uh- No.

  3. Josh Widdicombe· Host0:36

    Oh, right. No, sorry.

  4. Matthew Crosby· Host0:37

    No.

  5. Josh Widdicombe· Host0:38

    I misunderstood the news.

  6. Matthew Crosby· Host0:39

[laughs] No, yeah, yeah. What a way to break it to you.

  7. Josh Widdicombe· Host0:42

Since, since recording the last episode, we've had some terrible news. [laughs] We're still putting it out because it's what he would've wanted.

  8. Matthew Crosby· Host0:46

    Yeah. This is a tribute.

  9. Josh Widdicombe· Host0:47

[laughs] A tribute to the great man.

  10. Matthew Crosby· Host0:49

    The great, great, great man.

  11. Josh Widdicombe· Host0:51

We're gonna have to go back and re-edit some of the old episodes.

  12. Matthew Crosby· Host0:53

I'd s- Be a bit nicer about It's a Knockout ... yeah, yeah. I'd say the next, uh, 40 minutes is not the tribute Prince Edward would have wanted.

  13. Josh Widdicombe· Host1:01

    [laughs] Okay.

  14. Matthew Crosby· Host1:02

Because I would say, actually, for me, It's a Royal Knockout is the best bit of his TV career.

  15. Josh Widdicombe· Host1:09

It was a low point for the royals, but a high point for him personally.

  16. Matthew Crosby· Host1:12

I'd say it was a higher point for the royals than the next episode we're about to go through.

  17. Josh Widdicombe· Host1:17

    Fair enough.

  18. Matthew Crosby· Host1:17

So I'm gonna ask a question.

  19. Josh Widdicombe· Host1:20

    Please do.

  20. Matthew Crosby· Host1:20

Is It's the Royal Knockout the start of the descent of the royals, or was it just unfortunately timed that it was kind of the height of the royals in the early '80s
