    [trumpet music] Welcome back to part two of It's a Royal Knockout. Coming up in this episode, we meet the celebrities taking part in the show, and discover the reasons why Her Majesty the Queen and Charles and Diana quite wisely gave the event a wide berth.

    [trumpet music] So we're at a point where the royal family's at a real high. They couldn't be more popular. It's a Knockout is one of the biggest shows on British television.

    [laughs] Yeah, of course, yeah.

    A different line from the Peter Gabriel song. [laughs] Um, so I didn't know this, that the Queen was shot at in 1981.

    Oh, I didn't know that either.

    Yeah, so in 1981, during Trooping the Colour... You'd think this would be a bigger thing, to the point where I'm now questioning what I'm saying.

    [static noise] It happened just before 11:00, as the Queen moved towards Horse Guards Parade for the start of Trooping the Colour. [gunshots] [crowd screaming] Six shots were fired. The Queen's horse, Burmese, was startled, but the Queen controlled him. A guardsman grappled with a man, helped by onlookers, as police rushed in from all directions to make an arrest.

    Six shots were fired at the Queen, blanks. A 17-year-old had planned an assassination but couldn't get a real gun.
