Ireland come up short against England in Under-20s World Championship

Ireland U20s began their Under-20s World Championship campaign with defeat in Tbilisi, and it was déjà vu as Toulouse secured another Top14 title.
It’s also the start of an Ireland test week as the build-up to a clash with Australia kicks into gear.
Nathan johns discusses it all with Gordon D’Arcy and John O’Sullivan.

Uh, the, the rugby train never stops. And we did, of course, have the 20s first though on the weekend. They kicked off their Junior World Championships with a seven-point defeat to England, 34-27. Now, John, you covered the game. Your synopsis, I mean, you, you mentioned it was, it was quite a big result for them in terms of where they would go in the knockouts. Uh, and of course, it didn't go their way, so they're kind of struggling a little bit on that front.

Yeah, I thought they, they threw it away, to be honest. I thought that the discipline issues were, you know, they just ... They couldn't get out of their own way. They played some very, very good rugby at times, and then some of it was just rank ing discipline, lack of accuracy, lack of composure, lack of game management, misfiring line-out, very good scrum. But that should hurt them. They had the winning of the match and they just weren't able to take it. Giving away 21 points when you're a man down, and the nature of the England tries as well.
