Introducing: SuperHuman

4/28/20263 min

Imagine an Olympics where everyone is doping. No testing, no limits. Sounds like a joke? It’s not – the first ever Enhanced Games - a radical new competition designed to push the human body beyond its natural limits with a million-dollar prize attached kicks off at the end of May. And we have been embedded with the games for over a year watching athletes go from human to superhuman. I wanted to know, will the games go down in flames or usher in a new era, unlike anything we've ever seen.

  1. Chris Gayomali· Host0:00

Imagine an Olympics where everyone is doping, no testing, no limits. The Enhanced Games bill themselves as, quote, "A competitor to the Olympics." The difference is athletes can take any performance-enhancing drugs they see fit.

  2. Speaker 10:16

The inaugural Enhanced Games, or the Doping Olympics as it's been dubbed.

  3. Speaker 20:21

It's being called the Steroid Olympics.

  4. Speaker 30:23

    Steroid Olympics.

  5. Speaker 40:24

    The Steroid Olympics.

  6. Chris Gayomali· Host0:25

Folks wondered, were they being trolled?

  7. Speaker 50:27

When I first heard about it, like, uh, to be honest, like, I thought it was like a, a, a joke. I mean, I thought they're totally kidding, right?

  8. Speaker 60:33

I didn't think it was real.

  9. Chris Gayomali· Host0:34

What sounds like an anti-doping nightmare is a billionaire-backed vision of the future, the Enhanced Games, a radical new competition designed to push the human body beyond its natural limits, where science, money, and ambition collide.

  10. Speaker 10:48

    Are you serious about this?

  11. Speaker 7· Soundbite0:49

    Absolutely.

  12. Speaker 10:50

Do you think you can genuinely put on an event where everyone's doped up?

  13. Speaker 7· Soundbite0:53

    Absolutely.

  14. Chris Gayomali· Host0:53

Their plan is to disrupt a century-plus old model.

  15. Speaker 8· Soundbite0:56

Billions of dollars in revenue come into the Olympics, and none of that goes to the athletes.

  16. Chris Gayomali· Host1:00

Promising something grander, too, a new vision for the future.

  17. Speaker 8· Soundbite1:03

At the first Enhanced Games, athletes will break world records. When that happens, everyone's going to say, "What is he on, and how do I get it?"

  18. Chris Gayomali· Host1:11

A world where the same drugs used to turn Olympians into superhumans are available at your local pharmacy. Who do you see being, like, the Enhanced customer?

  19. Speaker 8· Soundbite1:19

    Anyone.

  20. Chris Gayomali· Host1:20

Maybe they're onto something. What were once niche tricks of the trade for bodybuilders have gone mainstream. Now the internet is full of normies injecting Wolverine stacks
