How will Burnham deal with Trump?
6/25/202642 min
Overnight, President Trump offered his first slither of a thought on the incoming prime minister Andy Burnham, calling him “extremely liberal" and a mayor of a "town” - which - arguably could have been much worse.
Does Burnham need to put his relationship with Trump centre stage? Or just ignore him? Will Trump be as relevant to Burnham as he was to Starmer?
Later, has the water closed over the Starmer premiership without a ripple? Why have we moved on so quickly? Are we in danger of turning the office of prime minister into a pop up shop?

What is a UK foreign policy stance and disposition in the era of Burnham? We don't know yet. I suspect he might not know yet either.

I don't know anything. I see that he was, I guess, the mayor of a town. I hear he's extremely liberal. Extremely. So that means he probably won't open up the North Sea. You know, I gave, uh, I gave Keir Starmer some pretty good advice. I said, "Open up the North Sea." I told this guy 15 times, and he wouldn't do it. I said, "You're gonna lose your prime ministership," and he did. In fact, I called it about three days early, right?

That is Donald Trump on that small town somewhere in the north of England from where Andy Burnham, uh, was the mayor, and also on Keir Starmer and how he, Donald Trump,
