How We Built the Coach Chijo Brand in Just One Year

One year ago, Monica and I were basically just “playing coach.”

Now we’re traveling across the country running volleyball clinics, building the Coach Chijo brand, meeting thousands of athletes, and recording our very first podcast episode.

    What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Coach Cijo Podcast, real conversations about volleyball, coaching, growth, and the journey behind it all. So let's get into it. Just go. Episode one of our new podcast. Can you believe we're doing a podcast?

    No. It was only a year ago we were talking about maybe doing content creator, influencer, putting on social media.

    Yeah, and h- and here we are.

    We're in Omaha, Nebraska- Yeah ... for volleyball, for work.

    Yeah, a work trip.

    A work trip to Omaha, Nebraska, and last night we interviewed Brooke Nuneviller, the outside hitter for the Omaha Supernovas.

    Yeah. That was pretty cool.

    [laughs] That was pretty cool. Were you a little star-struck?

  10. Monica· Host0:47

    Yes. [laughs] I was. [laughs] I couldn't believe it.

    Yeah. So I mean, it's all about connections because she played at the University of Oregon, where she was a teammate with a former player of mine who I coached when she was on my 12U team in sixth grade.

    It's crazy.

    Yeah, so we set this up. We were texting before we got here, and we did some stuff. She even did the scuba.

    Yeah.

    Yeah. So we're making content. We're gonna be at the Great Plains Regionals, uh, championships- Yeah, this weekend ... this weekend, and we have a booth- Yeah ... with banners and merch.
