    The partner of former Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has been charged with rape after police raided a Gold Coast apartment. Investigators declared a crime scene at the home on Thursday before the 65-year-old man handed himself in to police on Friday. He has now been charged with three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. Authorities have not named the man, but he has been identified by several media outlets as Dr. Reza Adib. Palaszczuk confirmed she was in a relationship with the Brisbane-based surgeon when she was premier in 2021. According to a statement from Queensland Police, it will, quote, "be alleged the man sexually assaulted a woman in her 30s at a Gold Coast home on the 30th of March."
