6/5/202652 min

Are you ready for good talk? [upbeat music] And hello there, Peter Mansbridge here, along with Chantal Hébert and Bruce Anderson. It's your, uh, regular Friday good talk. You know, last week, I don't know what came over me, but something at the beginning of the show, for some reason I didn't do the normal, "Are you ready for good talk?" And I just... I said something else, and I didn't think about it again until the letters started coming in. Now, I don't want to overstate things. There were- but there were a few saying, "You can't do this. The program starts, 'Are you ready for good talk?'" Clearly, both Bruce and Chantal looked puzzled as to why that was- It was disappointing ... not normal.

    It was disappointing.

It, it was... just got off on the wrong foot.

Well, some of the writers were disappointed. Eric Ott, a guy from Winnipeg, who I don't know, um, but he sent a letter saying, "My friends and I rely on that opening because some of us record it and send it to each other, are you ready? And we ship the program around." So I thought, [laughs] I better not do that again. We can't afford to lose anybody. And so that's why we're back to are you ready after a one-week absence. I bet you're both so happy
