The Cats make a mess of Brisbane after half-time led by a career best performance from the young 28 year old Shaun Mannagh.

    The Cats turn the tables on Brisbane in the grand final rematch in a Thursday night thumping. They win by 41 as their number seven boots all manner of goals. Joel Peterson and Damian Barrett bring you AFL Daily on this Friday morning. A very good morning to you, Damo. A nine goal to four second half, the Cats move to seven and three. Tom Stewart controlled the air, Shaun Mannix controlled the ground. It was a very, very impressive performance.

    It was, and for a, a 28-year-old, as we know, Joel, last year to be deemed the Coaches Association Best Young Player of the Year. He's continuing his form, isn't he, as a, uh, soon to be 29-year-old. 45th game last night. He's kicked two or more goals in 19 of those games. He's just got a habit- And talk about Shaun Mannix, by the way. Yes, yes. He's got a habit of popping up and putting... You know, you, you look at the end of the game, "Oh yeah, he's kicked three again. Oh yeah, he's kicked three again." He's just a, he's a rem- he's been a remarkably consistent player. Um, so 20 or 30 g- 30 disposals and five. Uh, our super producer, Joe Pignataro, kn- notes that he's the first player since Akers to have 30 and kick five at the Gabba. So I reckon that's pretty good company.

    And 12 in the past three weeks too, just to, uh, I suppose further enforce the, the point that this is, uh, one of the great footy stories. It was a slowish start for him, but equally, you know, the Cats had moments early in the season too, particularly in their very first game. Um, he wasn't on his own in not having a, a major impact at that stage of the season. But look, it, it's indicative too, isn't it, of where the Cats are at. They, um, they just continue to win enough matches of home and away
