From Saros to Vampire Crawlers, What Makes a Roguelike We Rogue-Love? - Beyond 944

Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced is officially real. Can you believe it?! Ubisoft has unveiled the AC Black Flag remake after weeks of leaks, and we're breaking down the full gameplay showcase: what's been remade, what's gone, and what big questions we still need answered before we get our hands on the open-world pirate game. We're also deep in PlayStation leak territory: the Spider-Man face model seems to be teasing Insomniac's next Spider-Man game (or a Venom spinoff?), and Sony Santa Monica's next God of War project is reportedly starring Deborah Ann Woll as Faye, pulling in deities from Chinese, Japanese, and potentially Mayan mythology. Will Marvel’s The Owl appear in either game? We hope not! Then there's Saros. Housemarque's PS5-exclusive cinematic roguelite shooter has gotten its share of reviews, and IGN's 7/10 puts it on the lower end of the critical consensus. We've all played it. The gunplay, the movement, the progression through Carcosa's biomes, all great. But its build variety leaves something to be desired compared to what we love about roguelites. That's got us dissecting what makes games like Vampire Survivors, Balatro, Dead Cells, and Spelunky work so well, and what Saros leaves on the table. Following fashion trends can be a lot of work, but dressing well doesn't have to be. If you're looking to upgrade your wardrobe without overcomplicating things, Quince is the best place to start. Quince offers a great selection of clothes that feel good to wear, work with any look, and are made from high-quality materials that are built to last. If you're gearing up for summer, take a look at Quince's 100% European linen shorts and shirts from 34 bucks. Lightweight, breathable, and comfortable, but still versatile enough that you can look put together if you go to a function where people are drinking from fancy glassware instead of the red plastic kind that you try to throw ping pong balls into. You know what I'm talking about. Quince works directly with ethical factories and cuts out the middleman, so you're getting premium materials without the markup, and you'll pay 50 to 80% less than you would for the same kinda clothes from big name brands. Aside from the occasional loud party shirt or obnoxiously try hard jacket, I generally stick to the basics when I'm getting dressed because it's just one less thing to think about, and Quince is absolutely clutch for that. You ever had a really good, solid, heavyweight T-shirt? Quince has some excellent ones. They're great, comfortable, extremely flattering, and made from 100% organic cotton. And before you say a T-shirt is just a T-shirt, there are plenty of other options here. You get crew neck, V-neck, Henley, long sleeve, short sleeve, heavyweight, like I mentioned, or ultra soft lux touch 100% Pima cotton. Oh, and by the way, they come in all sorts of different colors. Pick your favorite. Maybe you're set on T-shirts and want something a little more formal. Well, they got a wide range of button downs, oxfords, polos, and more to pick from. And they also have clothes for your legs, your feet, your head, and more, as well as accessories that you can put on your eyes
