[bomb exploding] Israeli airstrikes and ground fighting in Southern Lebanon have left at least 18 people dead. Meanwhile, planned talks in Switzerland involving US President- Vice President JD Vance have been called off. The developments follow an agreement signed by the US and Iran earlier this week. The CBC's Crystal Gomansing has the details from Jerusalem.

    Fighting in Southern Lebanon between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has led to more deaths. As of mid-morning, the Lebanese Health Ministry noted more than a dozen killed. It does not separate the deaths of civilians from fighters. France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Israel must stop its hostilities in Lebanon and the United States
