Former Liberal Figures Turn On Their Party: ‘The System Is Broken’

6/12/202634 min

Australia's political landscape is shifting rapidly – and the major parties are feeling the pressure.

This week on The Karl Stefanovic Show, founder of People First Party Gerard Rennick, ‘Something Better’ founder Charlotte Mortlock and One Nation senator Sean Bell join Karl for a fiery debate on the collapse of trust in Australia's political establishment, the rise of One Nation, and whether Labor and Liberal have lost touch with voters.

Charlotte explains why she quit the Liberal Party and launched a new political movement. Gerard Rennick warns that Australians have completely switched off from the major parties. Sean Bell defends One Nation's growing popularity and responds to criticism that the party isn't ready for government.

The panel discusses:

• One Nation's surge in the polls

• The collapse of the Liberal Party

• Why Australians are abandoning the major parties

• Gina Rinehart's influence in politics

• Gas, energy and resource taxation

• Labor's controversial capital gains tax changes

• Immigration and population growth

• Whether Australia is heading towards an early election

From political realignment to economic frustration, this is one of our most explosive political panels yet.

Botox, onabotulinumtoxinA, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine before they start. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It prevents on average eight to nine headache days a month, versus six to seven for placebo.

Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection, causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away, as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.
