Welcome back to Motor Learning for Coaches, the show that brings motor learning research into your practice environment. I'm joined once again by the head coach at UMBC, Casey Crider, and the mental skills coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Andy Bass. Uh, Andy, that, that might not be the appropriate title. I know you've taken on a slightly new role with the Pirates. Uh, wanted to see how it's going and what you think of it so far.

It's been a fun challenge, you know, using the article adjective of the probably, even though you've used that in years past, still hasn't really been n-necessarily true. We do have a team of us. Um, but yes, so for the last five years, I've been the sole mental conditioning coach in the major leagues. Um, was moved into an assistant director role this year, so overseeing the big leagues as well, but also processes in the minor leagues. Um, m- better work-life balance. I'm not just a hundred and sixty-two grinding away. Um, I'm in the big leagues a little bit of the time, and then triple A and working in the rehab space as well. But like I said, it was time for a change after five years, and it's been a good way to grow my own leadership skills by formally supervising some of our mental skills coaches, uh, from the top of the system to the bottom.
