President Trump launched Project Freedom over the weekend, a military-backed effort to escort stranded ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Daily Wire reporter Cassia Kiva has the latest on the showdown.

Trump announced the project on Truth Social and called the mission humanitarian, but warned any interference will, quote, "have to be dealt with forcefully." Iran pushed back, warning US involvement would violate the ceasefire. Ibrahim Azizi, the head of Iran's parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, took to X, writing, quote, "The Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf would not be managed by Trump's delusional posts." The standoff is rattling global markets and energy flows, with officials warning of increased oil disruptions and broader economic fallout. At the moment, however, negotiations continue. The UAE said its air defenses intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones launched from Iran Monday, leaving three people moderately injured. Officials also announced schools will shift to remote learning through May 8th in the UAE due to the situation.
