From Ambition to Authority: Kelly Miller on Women, Commerce, and Owning the Room at ANY Age
What happens when you're leading at the highest levels... before people think you're "old enough" to be there?
In this episode of SHeCOMMERCE, Cristina and Jacqui sit down with Kelly Miller, SVP, EMEA at Flywheel, for an honest conversation about building authority, navigating bias, and redefining what leadership looks like for the next generation of women.
Kelly shares the lessons that shaped her—from growing up in a household led by a fiercely independent mother to leading one of the world's most complex commerce regions. Along the way, she dismantles outdated ideas about age, confidence, and executive presence, proving that leadership isn't measured in years—it's measured in impact.
Together, they unpack:
- Why "you're too young" or "you're not seasoned enough" isn't feedback—and how to ask for feedback that actually helps you grow.
- Anne Hathaway's powerful perspective on overcoming imposter syndrome through preparation, not perfection.
- Why authentic leadership doesn't mean bringing your whole self to work—but your best self.
- How vulnerability can strengthen trust, teams, and performance.
- What it really takes to lead through constant change ("Just another week, another change.")
- The slow—but meaningful—progress being made in gender equity, pay transparency, and representation.
- Why success should never come at the expense of doing work you genuinely love.
Kelly also shares the personal mantra she relies on before stepping into high-pressure moments:
"I'm good at my job, and I know what I'm doing."
It's a simple reminder that confidence isn't something you're given—it's something you build.
Whether you're an emerging leader, an experienced executive, or someone questioning whether you're ready for the next opportunity, this episode is a masterclass in preparation, resilience, authenticity, and owning your seat at the table—at any age.
Because at SHeCOMMERCE, we believe leadership isn't about waiting for permission. It's about showing up prepared, speaking up with purpose, and lifting others as you climb.
Bold Brands. Fierce Women. One Sisterhood.

Don't do the work because you want to be successful. Do the work because you want to do the work. I think sometimes women get on a path of they are succeeding, but they're succeeding in something that they don't believe in. There was this amazing quote from Anne Hathaway, "I want to be the most prepared person," that comes across, and as long as I feel confident that I'm the most prepared I could possibly be, it almost doesn't matter what the outcome is because I know I gave it everything I could. I actually don't think you should bring your full self to work, but I just think you should bring your best self and your most polished self that somebody in your personal life would recognize as you. That increases the authenticity.

Being a young female SVP is not just a career milestone, it's an experience. We're told to be warm, but not soft. We're told to be leaders, but not aggressive.

[upbeat music] Welcome back to SheCommerce, everyone, uh, where power and real talk collide. See? I can do both. I can do both, um, in the CPG world. I'm Jackie.
Cristina· Host1:08
And I'm Christina, and today we have a guest who's basically the human version of don't let the polished LinkedIn title fool you. There's a whole lot of grit and sass behind this.
Jackie· Host1:21
Exactly, because today we're joined by an SVP from EMEA, which already sounds very impressive, very executive,
