One of the things I love about turkey hunting is it is a game of cat and mouse. The whole thing comes down to the setup. You get that wrong, turkey nuggets are not on your menu. That is why I use the onX Hunt app when I'm hunting turkeys. I think of it like an old Victor mouse trap. You use it right, it works. When you hear a gobbler, like, sound off in the dark, you can open up the map on onX and try to get a good sense of where he is, and you can use the compass mode on there if you really want to figure out where he is. Then you can take a look around at the landscape and build a setup that's gonna put you where that bird wants to be. At the same time, I know with certainty where public ground ends and private ground begins, so I'm not guessing or second-guessing or worrying about where I am and getting in trouble with somebody.
