I'm your host, Adam Shand. On April 9th, 1992, Constables Gallagher and Farley of Thomastown Police were on the divisional van doing patrol duty in this working class area in Melbourne's north. An uneventful shift until 5.45pm. A message came over the radio. Suspected human remains had been found. They returned to the station and met a local resident who'd been walking his dog along a waterway called the Merry Creek. He had discovered what appeared to be a human skull. Gallagher and Farley took the witness back to the scene, a desolate stretch of landfill between the creek and the Thomastown electricity substation.
