    Close of play on the second day of the second test match between England and New Zealand here at the Oval, and New Zealand in control of the game. We thought last night that England had a, a decent day, but they kind of ruined that in the first hour and a half this morning. Perhaps even in the first 20 minutes where New Zealand got away, had a, a dramatic start from them. There was the drop catch at deep midwicket where Duckett put down Jamieson on 15. He went on to get 41. But it wasn't just those runs, it was also the partnership with Glenn Phillips.

    There was a no ball as well. That was a front foot no ball.

    Yeah, they just ... The game just got away from England's short pitch tactics. No- Yeah, they didn't look very much in control, and then bringing Jofra in really late, bringing Bethel on when the ball was still relatively new.

    It just didn't really make a lot of sense what was going on, and I'm sure they would've probably looked at today before they started thinking they'd wanna bowl them out within the hour.

    Absolutely. [laughs] And, uh, uh, they ended up batting 10 minutes before lunch, and New Zealand adding 100 for their last three wickets. But- Great knock from Glenn Phillips, though, who really played well. Yeah, it was a fabulous innings, uh, from him. And he ... Look, he was really aggressive last night, and then he also re- withstood that bumper barrow from Jofra Archer, and then came out and played so positive, so nicely this morning. I suppose you've gotta look at England's tactics. They went with the short pitch bowling
