[upbeat music] Another Tuesday morning in May, another coaching departure at a fallen Victorian powerhouse. Welcome to an emergency edition of AFL Daily. I'm Josh Gablich, and I'm joined by Cal Twomey following the confirmation this morning that Essendon has sacked Brad Scott with immediate effect. Cal, this is on the back of that loss to Richmond during Dreamtime at the G last Friday night. Take us inside the club on this major morning.

It is a major morning, isn't it? And it's Essendon doing what Essendon does, sacking coaches. It's again, uh, gonna be the case where it heads into 2027 with six coaches in 16 years in that senior position. So this is potentially what it does best, removing, changing the plan, a-and making things up on the run to some degree, I think, because only a week ago, we heard from, uh, Tim Roberts in his first, first time, first interview as the CEO. He was unequivocal in his support of Brad Scott. A month before that, uh, the, the president, Andrew Welsh, uh, spoke to the media for the main time of this year in terms of his public, um, utterances and, and was so confident on Brad Scott being the next senior coach, premiership senior coach of the Bombers. And we're yet to hit the middle of the season truly, and, uh, they've made this call on
