Did Australia just qualify for the LA Olympics by smoking Bangladesh?
6/22/202643 min
After the 3-0 whitewash of Bangladesh and Australia's subsequent leap over NZ in the T20 rankings, Corbin and Ed await the conveniently timed announcement that the qualification period is closed and we will be at LA 2028. As well, the boys look at the trends, Aussie line up changes and upsets of the Women's World Cup in England. And speaking of, New Zealand's trouncing of the English men in the second test has us wondering what is the objective of the Poms right now.
Plus the MLC is underway with Mitch Owen on fire, we seem to be back at the start for BBL privatisation, Kane Williamson's shock retirement and listener questions.

I suspect that the qualification period for the Olympic Games is about to close. Australia have leapfrogged New Zealand in the rankings, and so- Nice ... all is right in the world, with the teams in their rightful order. So India's on top. Uh, England are the second-highest ranked team in the world, so clearly they'll be the European qualifier. And would you look at that? There has been a mix-up in the Oceania, uh, standings. Australia leapfrogged New Zealand after their three-nil sweep of Bangladesh, and, uh, it's the, the mystery date as to when the qualification period ends for the next, uh, Olympics, obviously in LA in 2028. I get the feeling, Teddy, it's around the corner any day now. And they, they might just actually set the marker as the day before New Zealand's next T20 game to make sure that nothing changes, and we get the right teams in the, uh, in the right spots for qualification at the Games.
