Dead Rabbit: 6. A Dark Web Rumour

7/17/202617 min

Dan and Lucy find a video filmed the night of the cup final, exposing that hare coursing isn’t just a game - it’s big business. Why would anyone pay tens of thousands of pounds for one dog? Chris Packham weighs in with his experience, and a police chief gives them striking new information.

Buried is the multi award-winning investigative podcast series digging into some of the most disturbing environmental stories in history. In this series, reporters Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor follow a trail left after dozens of dead animals were left in villages in the British countryside. They team up with the wildlife presenter Chris Packham, whose own dead-animal death threats escalated into a car bomb outside his house. The dead animals lead them into uncovering a criminal underworld in the British countryside.

Dead Rabbit is a Smoke Trail Production for BBC Radio 4.

Someone sent us a video. It's fascinating. It's a pub, and a group of men are drinking pints and shouting. You can see eight of them, but it sounds like there are more just out of shot. Most are wearing green jackets and neck warmers, like they've just come in from outside.
