Hello, and welcome to Storytime for Grownups. I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. Each episode, I'll read a few chapters from the book, pausing from time to time to give brief explanations so it's easier to follow along. It's like an audiobook with built-in notes. So brew a pot of tea, find a cozy chair, and settle in. It's Storytime. [upbeat piano music] Hi there. Welcome back. I hope you had a nice Memorial Day. I don't know about where you are, but where I am it was very, very cold and very rainy. It was very strange. But now it's back to being lovely and warm, and I'm appreciating it even more because of the strange cold and rainy weekend that we had. I hope that you had a nice time, whatever it was for you. And now it is Thursday, which means that it is Tea Time. So I want to remind you that today, tonight, if you are listening in real time, it is Tea Time at 8:00 PM Eastern over in our online community, which is called The Drawing Room. And if you are not yet a member of The Drawing Room, or you are not a member of the landed gentry but you are a member of The Drawing Room
