The Maple Leafs kick started the off-season with a trade and signing for former Lightning defender Darren Raddysh. The Toronto native signs an 8 year contract to come home to the GTA to quarterback the power-play. Jonas and James discuss the right handed shots strengths and weaknesses, how he fits in with the club and what might be next for the Maple Leafs leading up to the draft.

Well, James, I think, uh, we coined that this was crazy time, uh, in the NHL, and it is indeed crazy time because every day there is some bit of news involving the Toronto Maple Leafs. You're not surprised. I'm not surprised. I don't think anyone listening is surprised. I don't even think the deal in question is, is that surprising. Darren Raddysh, uh, sign and trade to the Leafs, eight-year contract, $8.5 million contract. I think that's probably a little bit surprising, uh, but we can get into that. This, this, this didn't knock you over when you found out about it, I'm sure.

No, I mean, the timing did because, uh, I think Elliotte Friedman posted it first, and it was right in the middle of the night. I woke up super early, and I just checked my phone, and [laughs] I was like, "Oh, I guess I'm going downstairs and writing." And it was like, it was like, it was dark outside. It was like 5:00 in the morning. So, um, this is the earliest I remember us having a trade on, on the site and, and writing something. Um, I think it went up before 7:00 AM.
