Cricket Collective - Should James Rew OPEN for England & Is Bethell Not Playing in the IPL Bad News for the Test side?
4/22/202648 min
Is James Rew ready to open the batting for England after a superb start to the County Championship season, or does he need to bat in the top order for Somerset soon? Does he come in for Zak Crawley, or do England re-arrange the batting order to fit him in? Is Jacob Bethell putting his place in the side at risk by not playing any Cricket before the New Zealand series? Can Warwickshire challenge for the County Championship after a strong victory over Essex? Is England's fast bowling stocks bright ahead of the 2027 Ashes? Does the injury sub rule already need to be abandoned after yet more criticism this week? Is it an own goal by England's Women to play intra-squad matches instead of domestic Cricket?

[upbeat music] You're listening to another edition of Following On with me, Neil Manthorpe, and Steve Harmison. Lots to get through, so let's get cracking, uh, Harmy, onto the big talking point at the moment. It's still six weeks until England's first test match of the summer, but, uh, already the speculation about changes to the starting 11 is, uh, heating up. And, uh, most of it is centered around Somerset's James Roux, who is making a compelling case [chuckles] it must be said. He's got 379 runs in five innings at an average of 75.8.
