    And for a really, really long time, the notion was that women live longer than men, and Alzheimer's is a disease of old age. Therefore, at the end of today, more women than men end up with Alzheimer's. That was actually the pushback that I... the first one [laughs] on my list of pushbacks that I got when I was a PhD student because I wanted to look at sex differences in Alzheimer's, and people were telling me, "It's a waste of your time because it's just aging. It's just longevity. It's just that women live longer than men."
