Bloodborne’s Getting a Movie, We Have Some Questions - Beyond 942

4/15/20261 hr 8 min

A Bloodborne animated feature film is in the works from Sony Pictures and Jacksepticeye, which is a better Bloodborne-related announcement than… no Bloodborne announcement. In any case, we’re stoked no matter what, but we have a lot of questions: what will this movie look like, or sound like? How will it tackle FromSoftware’s infamously dense lore and approach to storytelling in a linear narrative? In other news, Mouse: P.I. For Hire and Pragmata are both out this week, offering extremely different ways to shoot stuff. Mouse is at its best when it leans into throwback slapstick boomer-shooter gameplay, but underwhelms when it veers into detective adventure territory. Meanwhile, Pragmata seems like another banger for Capcom, with great visuals and presentation, but most importantly, really gratifying gameplay that feels good, from combat to basic movement.  00:00 - Intro 00:31 - Jada is BACK! 01:04 - Scan yourself into a PlayStation game...sort of 04:31 - Bloodborne’s Getting a Movie, We Have Some Questions 27:01 - Our Thoughts on Mouse: P.I. Beyond, and hello and welcome once again to IGN's weekly PlayStation show. I'm your host, Max Scoville, and coming up, they're making a Bloodborne movie. And we're stoked, but we also have some questions. Plus, Pragmata and Mouse: P.I. For Hire are out this week, offering two very different approaches to shooting stuff in the head. Let's get into it. [upbeat music] I am joined this week by my good old pal Brian Altano, and returning, Jada Griffin. Welcome back, Jada. What's up?

  2. Jada Griffin· Host0:33

Hello. I'm so happy to be back. The chains have been broken. I'm here a little earlier than I hoped, but, or than I expected, but I'm so happy to be here.

  3. Max Scoville· Host0:44

Well, we missed you, and so did many of our, our listeners and viewers. So good to have you back.

  4. Jada Griffin· Host0:48

And, and I have seen those messages. Thank you everybody out there who left a "Where's Jada?" "We miss Jada." All those messages of all those sorts, I saw them. I wasn't replying because I didn't wanna give you false hope, but I'm back.

  5. Max Scoville· Host1:02

Good. Well, okay. So let's, I, let's... There's a lot of good stuff to talk about, a lot of substantial information- Mm-hmm ... a lot of big news. But I wanna start things off with something that's just really stupid, uh, which is that PlayStation is having a little, I think it's a contest, but they're sort of framing it as almost like a new program. It's called The Player Base, and it is basically having us, having people audition to be scanned into PlayStation games. And yeah,
