Big Oak Goes Yard (Again), Jays Even Series vs. Guardians
4/25/202649 min
Sho Alli and Nick Ashbourne break down the Blue Jays' 5-3 win over the Guardians to even the series at one game apiece! They take your calls and texts, and get to the second career save for Louis Varland, who (despite some traffic) slammed the door to wrap up the win - why is the ninth inning so different for relievers? They get into Kazuma Okamoto's big game, including a home run and a bases loaded walk - if he can look like this more consistently, what could that do for the offence? Plus, they discuss Kevin Gausman's 6.2 IP of two-run ball, Ernie Clement continuing to churn out hits, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s lack of home run production.

Another great outing for Kevin Gausman, and Louie Varland getting his second career save, albeit an adventurous way [laughs] to get there. I'm sure we'll get to it. But today, a five-three win for the Jays to snap that mini two-game skid. Jays improve to eleven and fifteen on the season, and it does set up a rubber match tomorrow here at the Rogers Centre.

Yeah, the Blue Jays might just win consecutive series, something that was fairly routine for the team last year. A little bit more difficult here in twenty twenty-six. It was a bit of a weird game overall. You had Kevin Gausman giving you those velocity fluctuations. The splitter wasn't really fooling the Guardians lineup. He didn't get a lot of strikeouts with it.
