Big Oak Blasts a Pair of Bombs, Jays Even Series vs. Twins
5/2/202644 min
Sho Alli and Kaitlyn McGrath break down the Blue Jays' 7-3 win over the Twins in the second game of this four-game series! They take your calls and texts, and get to Kazuma Okamoto blasting a pair of home runs, his first career MLB multi-home run game! They discuss his offensive bounce-back, how he looks less tentative, and what his role could be going forward - how much does this help Vladimir Guerrero Jr. see better pitches in the short term? Plus, they get into Patrick Corbin's solid 5.1 IP of two-run ball, the usage of the bullpen's high leverage arms, and the outings for both Lenyn Sosa and Yohendrick Piñango.

[upbeat music] Well, Caitlyn, a spot start for us here on a Friday edition of Blue Jays Talk, and what a night it was. Not only do we get a 7-3 Blue Jays win, Jays even the series in Minnesota down at Target Field with two more games to go this weekend, a four-game series. Big Oak going yard not once, but twice. The manly man with two home runs tonight for the first time in his Major League career. But we also got a drama-filled Raptors 112-110 win to force a game seven. RJ Barrett touching the heavens with the highest bounce you'll ever see. I mean, what a night to be a Toronto sports fan.

Oh, yeah, it was incredible. I mean, we were, um, double screening down here- Yeah ... today. And I gotta admit, I wasn't sure the Raptors were gonna pull it off. [laughs] I was getting nervous. I was getting really nervous. Uh, you know, it, uh, it was a game where they looked like they had control of it. Um, and it, it felt like the direction was that they were gonna push for a game seven, and then game goes to overtime, it gets closer, uh, down to, like, what, 10 seconds on the clock- Oof ... and they're still down. And yeah, I was nervous. I was not sure. And then of all people to hit the shot, obviously incredible that it goes to RJ Barrett, Toronto native, you know, hometown boy, uh, somebody that grew up watching this team. Uh, just a great moment, a great moment.
