Natalie Sawyer is joined by former Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee and commentator Joe Shennan following a monumental night of World Cup football as Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal crashed out and Belgium hammered the hosts, the USA.
The team debate whether we have officially seen the last of Cristiano Ronaldo on a World Cup pitch after Portugal's heartbreaking exit to Spain and whether never winning a World Cup has damaged Ronaldo's legacy.
They also delve into the drama surrounding Belgium’s 4-1 win over the USA, asking if justice was finally served after the Folarin Balogun red card saga as Donald Trump even weighed in - we'll hear from him in the episode.
PLUS they also give their reflections on England’s historic victory over Mexico at the Azteca, dissecting how Thomas Tuchel’s side dug deep to overcome the elements and the hosts in their own backyard.

[upbeat music] Hello, and welcome to the Talksport World Cup Daily podcast. I'm Natalie Sawyer, and coming to you live this time from Atlanta, having flown in just a couple of hours ago. Alongside me on the episode is former Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee, as well as Talksport commentator Joe Shennan. And we have got so much to unpack in today's episode. But before we do that, how are you all? How much are you enjoying Atlanta? We've only really been here a few hours, Joe, because we were delayed with our flight.
Joe Shennan· Guest0:40
We did have a long delay. Managed to get some commentary prep done at the airport, which I was very grateful for, but great to be here in Atlanta. I mean, the downtown looks really promising. Of course, we've had some Mexican food. [laughs] Mexican food seems to be one of the big themes of this trip- [laughs] ... I feel like so far, but really excited to see more of the city tomorrow. Cannot wait to see the stadium. Everything that everybody says about this Atlanta stadium is positive, and we're even gonna have air-conditioning- I know ... because the roof's gonna be closed, so it's benefits all around, I think.

Uh, to be fair, we've come from New York, having been at the Brazil-Norway game, which was fabulous for us, Mark McGhee, but it was not the best of weather when we left this morning. Uh, walking out from the plane as we did, it did hit us, the humidity, the heat, uh, and so yes, as Joe says, we're thankful for air-conditioning
